Interpretation of EN16825: 2016 for cabinet testing under EEPLIANT2 WP6
EEPLIANT2 WP6 is about to launch a programme of cabinet testing to EN 16825: 2016* in line with the relevant EU regulations. In discussion with stakeholders, it was apparent that some minor aspects of EN 16825 were open to different interpretations by labs and that more clarity would be useful on some aspects of decision making about results in order to ensure that testing under EEPLIANT2 is done in a consistent and internally comparable way. An interpretation protocol has therefore been developed.

Please be aware that:
- Market surveillance authorities make their own decisions on compliance, based on all the information available to them and do not have to follow this guidance in their work.
- The protocol sets out an approach to be used under EEPLIANT2 only, to ensure consistent and comparable test processes and to make best use of the available funds.
- If, after testing, feedback and review, there appear to be useful lessons out of this protocol for future development of EN 16825 and/or the regulations and/or market surveillance good practice, then these will be notified to CENELEC TC44 Working Group 2 (responsible for EN 16825) and to the Commission and will be publicised via the EEPLIANT2 reporting process.
The protocol draft can be downloaded here.
