The key objective of EEPLIANT3 Concerted Action is to help deliver the intended economic and environment benefits of the Energy Labelling and Ecodesign Directives by increasing the rates of compliance with them. This will be achieved through coordinating the monitoring, verification and enforcement activities of 24 Market Surveillance Authorities and 5 other organisations accross the EU Single Market and Turkey. The Consortia of the three EEPLIANT Actions, which are comprised of Market Surveillance Authorities and National Agencies under PROSAFE's coordination, have been carrying out coordinated market surveillance actions across different product sectors. They have been reviewing and testing energy performance of the following products:
EEPLIANT Actions and PROSAFE develop documents (guidelines, training for inspections, templates, etc.) relevant to market surveillance officers and to economic operators involved in area of energy labelling and eco-design.
The EEPLIANT3 Concerted Action will last for a period of 54 months starting with June 2019. During this time, PROSAFE is organising a large amount of work package meetings, trainings and workshops.
The EEPLIANT2 project finished in February 2020. The Work Packages had its final meetings in autumn/winter 2019 with the Final Conference held in early 2020.
EEPLIANT3 is a Concerted Action funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 framework. PROSAFE is a lead coordinator with the Austrian Energy Agency and vores bureau ensuring the coordination of several Work Packages. Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) – in addition to the private investment that this money will attract. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.
